Ok, so today I was debating on trying this place because I checked here on Yelp first and saw a lot of people hating on the place, so I was hesitant. However, since I work next door, I said F it and went for it anyways. In my opinion, the food was legit as can be for the price. I got the enchilada lunch special and only paid like $7 something bucks. The portions are very fair for what I paid, and taste was great! Especially compared to what you would have paid going to some fast food crap and paying the same amount. I'm very satisfied with my choice and now i'm glad that I work right by it, because ill be getting this more often. Lesson learned today: Don't always listen to the reviews you read. Honestly...some people are just too dang picky. P.s. The only "negative" thing I have to say (if you can even call it that) is that the chips were a little crunchier than my liking and the salsa was pretty meh...but not what i'd call bad. Overall 10/10, would devour again.

This is one of our mainstay places, the food is always great and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean and staff are great. The fajitas are the best around.

Not really a fan of Ta Molly's. It's not that it was bad, per se, it's just that it's really not very good. Based on the outside of the building I thought it would have been a little better. It's not that it's really bad, per se, it's just that it's not very good. I don't even remember what I got which basically tells me that it wasn't so bad that I never want to go there again but at the same time it wasn't good enough that I actually would want to go there again.

I have been there about 5 times now & either I was starving the first time I went there or their food keeps getting worse each time I go. I have tried really hard to like it because it's so close to our house & we love Mexican, but after the last time, my husband & I agreed that we won't be going back.

Better than trejos by a long shot but still pretty average. The atmosphere is pretty neutral and the service is hit or miss. The price is a little high for the quality of the food they dish out, but honestly, it's tex mex. You can't expect too much. The chips and salsa at least have been consistently good and the food has never made me take the walk of shame out the door and back home, but all in all, average is the best way to describe this place.

As many others have noted, decent is the best way to describe Ta Molly's. If could give 3 1/2 stars I would but not deserving of 4. Food - 3/5 Recently made my 3rd trip, each time trying something different on the menu. First trip was enchilada dinner (great price) and was fine. 2nd the Torta special, good but bland and 3rd I had the stuffed chili relleno. Chicken was dry, cheese was in a giant clump and the foods on the plate were all served at different temperatures. A little seasoning could go a long way. Service - 4/5 Servers are friendly, food is served quick however sometimes incorrect, language barrier inhibits such. Decor - 4/5 Bright, clean, Tex-Mex atmosphere. If any nit-pick it would be choice of music often times makes no sense or is entirely too loud Overall, if looking for tex-mex fare in Bossier, give them a try, not great, but not bad either. Prices are fair and service is quick.

Bad service bad food. I travel quite a bit but think I will stick to my favorite places when I'm in Shreveport area. Never go back again nor do I recommend.

Portions were incredibly small for the price tag. Had a weird 15 minute period near the end of our meal where we didn't see our server. No refills on our drinks, no check, nothing. The other tables in our area had the same issue.

They will only seat where they want to put you. I was disappointed by the way she treated me and made sit in the middle of a loud party's. I will not recommend this place and will eat there again. I got up and just left without ordering.

My wife and I used to enjoy the chicken salad there. Now it has change to last night's fajita chicken that they put in the grilled chicken salad. It also seems the house dressing is continuously changing. My wife asked for a frozen margarita to only find out that they did not turn on the margarita machine. They brought her one on the rocks that did not taste like a margarita. I asked for a Negro Modelo beer that they had on the menu only to be brought a different type of Modelo beer. Once I pointed that out they laughed and said don't sue for false advertising. The concrete floor is very slick from high humidity they have to keep the restaurant very cold to keep the humidity out. The price was cheap but so was the service I won't go back again.

Can't understand what kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't serve Horchata. .. [1st clue that I ignored]. No regular Queso only some kind of Chilli Con Queso that was nasty. .. [strike 2] The chips were nasty, the food was bland and I guess I should've just left. I've never had Mexican so bad. I've had better from Taco Bell and they don't count. .. Oh and let's not forget the amazing race to the bathroom when we got home. . [Strike 3....]

Decent Mexican food for the price. Love the Bobs dip, but I always replace the ground beef with chicken. Yummmm. You should try it. I always ask for white queso also. It just tastes better to me than the yellow. I love their salsa, not too hot..so you have a hard time stopping. Haha. Good flavor, however, a little on the watery side. Their ground beef is too spicy for me and my family. We always replace it with shredded chicken. The ground beef will give you indigestion and guaranteed heartburn! ;-) Service has always been ok for us. We do eat here often because we love Mexican and it's less expensive than others and the food is decent. They don't have shrimp fajitas or shrimp anything, so it you are looking for shrimp..go somewhere else. Their sweet tea is good too.

Come on Wednesday for the enchilada special all day. The sour cream sauce is very good! The food won't blow you away, but it's good. The Bob's Dip is great, don't stir it, just taste it in layers. I like their chips and salsa. The service here is always great.

Wasn't all that great. I mean the food is pretty cheap but your getting cheap quality food. Server was a chill dude, won't be going back.

Dirty tables and floors, bad service (slow, rude, forget what you ask for). We waited so long for our food that our chips were re-filled 3 times but our drinks were never touched. The margaritas are weak and ridiculously sour, all you taste is sour. When our food showed up we all had waited so long that we just asked for to-go boxes and left. Our waiter was rude, slow and forgetful. Not sure why everything was so bad because it wasn't very busy. We'd been here once before and enjoyed our meal that we decided to go back, we'll never go back again. If I wanted a crap Mexican meal I would've gone to Taco Bell and saved at least $50.

Tried something new as opposed to the local chains we usually frequent. Don't go in expecting anything fancy. This is basic Tex Mex done decently. From a look at the other people eating here, Car Hearts and those funny jump suits oil people wear seem to be allowed attire. Food was similar if not better than Trejo's or Nicky's. Service was decent as well. Good for a quick fix but stick with Cantina or Superior for a fancier experience.

Ta Molly's is good. It's clean. It has good service. The food is decent. The salsa is spicy and has a nice flavor which is nice, but they serve it to you in tiny little cups, which is not so good. I don't eat salsa, okay?...I drink it! Bring me a carafe of your finest, mi amigo! You know what I'm saying? I can handle a bottle of it, certainly my table mate whoever it may be at the time and myself can certainly make work out of a couple of bottles. If salsa was alcohol, I'd be getting pulled over and having slurred speech. I've been to Ta Molly's three times, today for lunch being the third visit. I ordered the puffy taco which came with rice and beans and it was very good, actually, and for their house dressing (which is great!) they are actually more liberal with the dosage of that than with their salsa and much more so, than most other Mexican restaurants in these parts are with their house dressing. The house dressing at Ta Molly's is that orangey-tangy-creamy stuff everyone around here seems to dig. Ta Molly's dressing is a bit more peppery than others, but I like it better. The puffed tacos for lunch are only $6.99 and it also comes with guacamole, and those that know me well, know I'm a real guacamole ho bag. I loves me some guac! The guacamole is definitely not the best I've ever had, but it'll do, pig, it'll do. Especially, as a free side garnish, when normally restaurants require you to donate a vital organ, or sign over you car title just to get some guac! $8 for guac at some restaurants these days! It's a condiment people! A darn tasty wonderfully awesome one, but it is now being marketed as a condiment by the California Avocado Farmers...seriously! Guac is the new Ranch! Anyway, Ta Molly's is a chain, but this is the only location in all of Louisiana. It's in a good, busy location in Bossier and they get lots and lots of business. It's kid-friendly, so bring all your screaming babies, it'll be okay! I think Ta Molly's doesn't knock over the masses here on Yelp because we just have too much good Mexican food already here (and thank goodness for that!) and Ta Molly's can't really hang with all that, but it's still an all right place and good enough to eat at, if you're in the area and in the mood for some Mexican food (like I am 24/7!). I believe that if Ta Molly's was in a place like Wisconsin or New Hampshire, people there would think that it totally rocks! We're just more well-versed in Tex-Mex here, is all.

Okay, it's not the best mexican restaurant. I can also say it's not the worst. The food is okay and the dining room is clean. The hot sauce and chips are good. But you have to remember, the prices are really low. You can't expect champagne for beer prices. I think the food is what you should expect for the price. I've been there 3 times for an affordable family dinner and have not had a bad experience yet. So if you are looking for decent mexican food at a great price, this is your place. Their friendly staff will take care of you.

This is the best Mexican Restaurant in town and I should know because mexican food is my favorite food. The service is always good. The dining and rest rooms are always clean. The chips and hot sauce is good. The prices are lower than some other places in town. They are located right off I-220.

The man and I were running typical Saturday errands and thought we'd give Ta Molly's a shot. From the outside, it appears to be the kind of place for people who celebrate Cinco de Mayo with an Old El Paso taco kit and Mexican flavored Rice-A-Roni. But I'm not one to judge a book by its cover. So in we go. If I worked with the people who sue for equal opportunity stuff, I may have a job to do here. Every single worker I saw was Hispanic or looked it. Not a problem at all, but I feel this wasn't done because that's the only people who applied for the job. It was casting, pure and simple. But I will admit that when I eat at a Mexican restaurant, I want to see Mexicans eating there. There was one, and I discovered she was just there waiting for her brother/boyfriend/husband to finish his shift. Every single table was occupied by someone you might find at Bingo night at the local Methodist church. Blouses, trousers, short coiffs and grey hair. I crossed my fingers that Bossier had a large senior population that were mexican food fanatics. I asked our server "Do you have Horchata?" She looked confused and I repeated the question twice. She was still clueless and replied that they had Coke products. Was her accent fake? Am I stereo-typing? She was clearly Hispanic, had a Mexican accent and worked in a Mexican restaurant. But had never heard of horchata?? *sigh* It was obvious to me that the hiring manager was putting too much stock in hiring people who looked "Mexican enough" and not enough into actual authenticity. Husband and I both ordered the Fiesta plate. The hard taco for each plate brought out immediately. Like a soup or a dinner salad would be. Weird! Then the rest of our food came out in about four minutes. It was not good. And what is it with this place and chili sauce on enchiladas?? Everything tasted the same. It was a pile of glop on a scorching plate. I picked at my lunch and watched a group of six seniors pass the glass window to come in. *sigh*. They do offer a military discount and the prices were reasonable if you lacked taste buds.

Great place to stop for a lunch break. They are super fast on the many occasions I have been. The food is good. Great hot sauce. Food portions are large. Now I will admit, like some people on here, I do not expect champagne to be served table side. In other words I know where I am, I knew it was a chain tex mex place when I walked in and that's why I find it enjoyable. You cannot expect chief Ramsey to cook your food when you are paying as little as they charge. To me it's very affordable, nice quick bite of tex mex, bottom line.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
